Where should a go on vacation when I get back from deployment?

miss impulsive asked:

I’m deployed in Afghanistan at the moment. I just got back from my mid-tour leave in Las Vegas and now I’m planning for my vacation I am going to take when I get back, sometime in the January-March timeframe.

Here’s what I am looking for:

I want to go somewhere warm, somewhere RELAXING. I am not looking to hit up a new club every night or anything like that. I am in to just unwinding, taking in scenery, being somewhere I’ve never bee, somewhere unique, etc. Price isn’t going to be a huge issue, but I am not looking to spend more than $5000 on a week long vacation. It can be anywhere in the world, I just want something new/fun/relaxing. Any ideas?

Vote #1 Carribean Cruise. Why see one place when you can see many WARM places?

    Vote #2 Malibu beach, California

Vote #3 Outer Banks of North Carolina. Rent a huge house invite friends and family and enjoy the beach!!

Find an out of the way Caribbean Island. Don’t do the touristy ST Croix, hit somewhere like St. Johns island. It is fairly inexpensive to stay there and you can take a ferry to other places like St Thomas and St Martin to party and shop.

Minus the warm part. Alaska. Very scenic. Very relaxing. Find a good ski reort where you can be treated very well in a 4 or 5 star manner. It won’t be crowded, and there’s no more unique experience than seeing the norther lights on a majestic Alaskan night.
