1) Beach/island vacation- spending most of your time relaxing on a beach or at a pool, either on an island or other beach/tropical/warm weather destination.

2) Snow/ski vacation- hitting the slopes either skiing or snowboarding, in a cold weather destination.

3) Adventure- hiking, backbacking, etc.- an on the go vacation filled with action.

I personally vote for (1)- I’m all about relaxing by the beach or at the pool on vacation.

You typically have to pay the rental price up front (or a large portion of it). What are your options if you go on vacation and find that the property is not what was advertised? Once they have you rmoney, what can you do? I hate to be so untrusting, but there are so many people out there these days looking for ways to rip others off.
